An Evening of Fresh to Salt: Poetry, People, and Plankton

Our Annual Fundraiser An Evening of Fresh to Salt would not have been possible without the support of our wonderful artists, volunteers, donors and sponsors. We are so grateful to artists who donated their art to our fundraiser, our volunteers who gave their time and skills, our donors who generously gave to support our programs, and our sponsors who donated their products and services.

We are thrilled to have raised over $60,000 to support our programs educating students and communities about the connections between the ocean, inland waters, and the economy of Maine.

Herring Gut is the hub of learning about local watersheds. For years we have educated students about economically and environmentally sustainable opportunities in the Blue Economy of Maine. We currently offer over 30 different types of programs, 75 individual programs this summer alone, educating thousands of students, teachers, visitors and community members each year about freshwater and saltwater ecosystems.
