Where: Meet at HG, travel to the monitoring site nearby (Drift Inn Beach)
Learn how to become a community scientist and monitor coastal flooding and sea level rise in your community with Herring Gut Coastal Science Center. With the impacts of coastal flooding already felt acutely by our communities, we can take action to help inform and protect our vulnerable communities with the GMRI's Ecosystem Investigation Network. After experiencing the highest predicted tides of the year in April and May, join GMRI and communities throughout the Gulf of Maine in discussing what impacts we have been observing on the coastline. Share your own thoughts about the places you care about or listen to others who have been noticing impacts in their own communities. Register here.
Educator Workshop: Coastal Flooding Community Science
When: May 14th, 4-7pm
Where: UNE Biddeford Campus
Learn about and experience activities and resources to engage youth in learning about sea level rise and the impacts of coastal flooding. Participants will receive a $75 stipend, dinner, mileage reimbursements, and contact hours. Register here.
