MISSION
Educating students and communities about the connections between the ocean, inland waters, and economy of Maine.
Herring Gut Coastal Science Center accomplishes this by:
Serving as the watershed education hub for the Midcoast Maine region
Delivering Science (STEAM) based programs at Herring Gut campus, schools, online and in the field
Collaborating with local, regional and statewide partners to provide the highest quality programming and outreach
Offering professional development workshops for educators
Inspiring curiosity through hands-on experiential and other learning opportunities for all ages
VISION
By 2025 Herring Gut Coastal Science Center will be recognized as a leading educational presence in the watershed communities of midcoast Maine by providing lifelong learning experiences about the ocean, aquaculture, watersheds, and science literacy.
