Experience Maine’s Marine Economy Program

Our Experience Maine’s Marine Economy Program is a field-based and experiential excursion program that took students to some of the most innovative marine-based industry and research facilities in the midcoast region of Maine. Each day offered opportunities for participants to see and participate in the day-to-day operations of oyster farms, aquaculture facilities, and aquaponic systems. This was a unique opportunity for high school students to engage with professionals in aquaculture and aquaponic settings and gain insight into pursuing a career in these exciting fields.
