Herring Gut Coastal Science Center Announces Three New Advisory Council Members
PORT CLYDE, ME, November 15, 2023 Herring Gut Coastal Science Center announces three new Advisory Council members.

Edward Cady

Edward Cady has over 35 years of experience in the construction products industry. This has included general and financial management, mergers and acquisitions, an IPO and private equity investing. His operating and investing experience has been in the United States, Latin America, Canada, Australia and Europe. Mr. Cady was chairman of Lindapter North America, a distribution-engineering firm he started in 1995, until he sold it in 2010. He started Cady Investment Company LLC, which focuses on angel investments where investments have been made in over 20 companies. He was a principal partner in the LBO of Unistrut Corporation from GTE Corporation in 1986. He founded and was an owner, officer and director of Fall Arrest Systems Inc. in addition to ZSI Inc., a company he purchased in 1998 and sold in 2004. He has served on numerous Boards of Directors. Mr. Cady holds a BS degree in Business from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. He volunteers his time with aspiring entrepreneurs. In addition, he volunteers at the Marshall Point Lighthouse, Ride Share in Tenants Harbor, and the St. George Sailing Association.
Gerry Cushman

Gerry is a lifelong resident of Port Clyde, Maine and remains a tireless advocate for keeping community-based fishermen on the water with viable fishing businesses. His father was a groundfish fisherman, and Gerry is committed to having a healthy Gulf of Maine ecosystem and a healthy fishing fleet in the future. You can find Gerry fishing for lobster most days of the year.

Ann is semi-retired from the practice of intellectual property law where she focuses on IP litigation and other contested matters, trademark protection and enforcement, Internet and domain name disputes, and copyright law. She is also a registered patent attorney with related experience in counseling, legal opinions, and prosecution in a variety of technologies. Ann holds a B.S. in Zoology and Pre-Medical Science from DePauw University (cum laude), a Masters in Medical Genetics from Indiana University, and a J.D. from Boston University.
A former member of the Board of Directors and panel attorney for the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of Massachusetts, she currently volunteers as a driver for the St. George Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) program. Ann and her husband, Keith, live in Port Clyde. Together they enjoy sailing, cooking, baking, gardening, and travel, and she has recently taken up weaving.
