The Long Coast
Herring Gut is excited to partner with Waldo Theatre at their first film in The Waldo’s Annual Maine Artist Film Series. Join us on Thursday, July 17th for Ian Cheney’s THE LONG COAST. A lyrical and artful portrait of seafolk and seafood producers along the coast of Maine whose lives and livelihoods are inextricably connected to the ocean.
Come early to enjoy “Texture and Light” in the Waldo Gallery, an incredible display of Graphite Drawings & Giclée Prints by Susan A. Cooney who is featured in the film. A Night to Make Waves
Our favorite night of the summer won't be the same without YOU! “A Night to Make Waves" takes place on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at the SaltWater Fields Event Barn in South Thomaston, Maine.
This isn’t just another summer evening; it’s an opportunity to raise awareness, strengthen connections, and help sustain the vital work of Herring Gut Coastal Science Center. With growing economic challenges, we need your help more than ever to ensure our programs thrive and continue inspiring students and communities across Maine.
Together, we can secure the future of Maine’s blue economy. Let’s make waves together!
