"LONG LINE KELP GROWERS" CREATE PIE USING SEAWEED

Posted 2 weeks, 5 days agoViewed 99 times

On Friday, eight students from St. George School's "Long Line Kelp Growers" worked with staff and educators to create their very own Seaweed Salted Caramel Cream Pie for the 15th Annual Pies on Parade event in Rockland, Maine.  Students used organic seaweed paste to add a salty touch to their creation.  This past Sunday, several of the students helped to serve the pie to guests at Flanagan Recreation Center, one of the Pies on Parade venues. Students fielded questions from guests and explained the process involved in creating their delicious pie.  Guests were impressed and came especially to sample their creation!
